Far too many cyclists are seriously injured or even more tragically, killed in collisions with motor vehicles across the globe, especially where the ratio of riders versus the motorists is the widest. What we now know is that the fewer the cyclists, the more likely they are to be injured or killed on a per kilometers travelled basis.
Educating both bicyclists AND motorists is critical to addressing this problem and the Canadian city of Edmonton has created one of the more innovative ways to address this need through it's Let's Get There Together video campaign.
Using simple stop motion animation and LEGO characters, they have produced a series of funny and informative instructional short films, each addressing one aspect of safe cycling from how to make left-hand turns to using the city's expanding network of bike lanes.
